CHAMONIX VALLEY AND MONT-BLANC AREA WEATHER FORECAST

From http://chamonix-meteo.com

ISSUED AT 08:25 TUESDAY JUNE 18

GENERAL SYNOPSIS

Context of a large loose gradient pressure field all over Europe, with a tiny high ridge 1016‑1018 hpa west to east, that ensures fairly sunny summer condition along the Northern slopes of the Alpine Range this Tuesday. Weak action centres are lying far away : tiny high cell Southeastern Baltic, on its way towards Russia, and spread low area, Norwegian Sea to West of Portugal, still shaping a fairly light southwesterly stream over our Region, whose instability should increase over the hours today. • Therefore, thunderstorm risk cannot be ruled out, especially south and along the Italian slopes of our High Massifs. • Thundery deterioration likely to becoming more pronounced, Thursday to Saturday, then possible beginning of a scorching heat spell from Sunday.
