Combloux is THE easiest ski resort to drive to from England or from Geneva and has fast road access to several other resorts. The season normally runs from Saturday before Christmas to last Sunday in March.
There are two lift pass areas which we will describe below. Our local area, 'Portes du Mont Blanc' (PMB) is part of the wider 'Evasion Mont Blanc'
Ski school : Absolute beginners should join group lessons, but once you can ski safely and confidentally, you could gain more from a combination of ski guiding, private lessons and skiing with a friendly group. We are happy to discuss individual preferences and may be able to join you on the slopes.
Ski and boot hire : we have been loyal customers of Marin Sports for 30 years, and our guests always get excellent service.
À 350 mètres from our apartments, there is a free drag lift up to 'la Cry', the ski base for access to this local area. If you have young kids in tow, you can drive up 800m and park near the pistes. Overnight, you can leave kit in the apartment ski lockers, locked in your car, or in a locker at our friendly Marin Sports shop. We often park right beside the piste and ski down to a lift.

This is plenty of variety for all grades of skier, and with beautiful views, tree lined pistes, two snow parks, 16 friendly restaurants, a good ski school and superb ski creche - all of which makes it ideal for short breaks and family holidays.
This wider area pass includes the PMB area and also Megève, St Gervais, and les Contamines . It is a vast area, best accessed by driving to one of six lifts serving different sectors. However you can take a free ski-bus to the Princesse lift on the outskirts of Combloux or ski down to Jaillet and take a free ski-shuttle across Megève. The day pass costs 35% more than Combloux (PMB) but compares favourably with other major resorts. It covers 400km of pistes and 107 lifts serving 238 runs.
We recommend you consider day trips to several other resorts that are less an hour by car: Praz-sur-Arly and the linked Diamant Vert resorts ; Chamonix and les Houches; Grand-Massif ; Morzine or Avoriaz .
Accommodation accounts for less than 20% of the total cost of a skiing holiday, but if you choose the cheapest available apartment, expect to spend much more time and money outside of it.
